On-line course for journalists on mental health and human rights

MDRI and APRODEH have teamed up to offer an on-line course for journalists, “Salud Mental y Derechos Humanos” (“Mental Health and Human Rights”). The course provides journalists with weekly readings on topics relating to mental health and human rights, geared toward training journalists to report on mental health issues in a non-stigmatizing manner and from a human rights perspective.  Course requirements include that participants submit articles incorporating themes from the reading materials. Articles are evaluated on the basis of how well students express human rights concepts when writing articles involving people with psychosocial disabilities or on mental health issues.
