Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York to Serve as Honorary Chair of MDRI’s New York Event

Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York, will serve as honorary chair of Mental Disability Rights International’s November 20th New York  Reception. “Forgotten No More: A Photographic Exhibit Benefiting MDRI” will be held at 401 Projects and will feature the work of renowned documentary photographer Eugene Richards. This event will also highlight his new book, A Procession of Them, a heart wrenching view into the tortured lives of individuals locked away in the world’s most inhumane psychiatric institutions.

MDRI’s first event in New York City will focus not only on the individuals captured in Mr. Richards’ work, but will also focus on our successes throughout the past 15 years. Working in 23 countries, MDRI has documented conditions leading to worldwide outrage, published reports on human rights enforcement, and promoted the international oversight of the rights of people with mental disabilities.
